I have 2 Cisco SFP modules and I need to check whether it is a Cisco product or not. I tried Device Coverage Check which validate the product coverage with Cisco contract. If the product isn't cover with a contract it gives product unavailable but this doesn't mean that product isn't a Cisco product it means that this serial number isn't exist Cisco contract database.

This document describes the process on how to generate license key file from Product Authorization Key (PAK) file for Cisco Email Security Appliance (ESA), Web Security Appliance (WSA) and Security Management Appliance (SMA).
Question
How to generate license key file from PAK file that has been received for ESA, WSA and SMA.
A PAK file is normally received via email after the purchase of license(s) and normally in the form of a PDF attachment.
Procedure to apply and generate licenses
Below is the procedure to register the PAK file and generate the license key file for ESA, WSA and SMA:
- Go to http://www.cisco.com/go/license and log in using your CCO id.
- Click on to 'Continue to Product License Registration' button.
- From the next screen, Click on 'Add New PAKs/Tokens' link.
- Enter the PAK number and 'Submit'. Please see below example:
- Tick the PAK/Token ID listed.
- Click the 'Actions' drop down box.
- Select 'Get New Licenses'. Please see below for example:
- Click on 'Next' button from the next screen.
- Select the appliance type whether the PAK number is for Physical appliance or Virtual appliance.
- Enter the serial number of the appliance. Please enter the serial number of the appliance after the '-' sign.

The serial number is 888F89E88F88-8V88TW8, please enter just '8V88TW8' in the 'SN/Virtual Device Identifier' box.
- Enter the correct 'Send To' email address to receive the license key file.
- Enter the 'End User' information for this request.
- 'Tick' the check box to accept the Terms of the License Agreement.
- 'Submit' the request.
- Once submitted, a confirmation page will be displayed.
- Please allow at least 30 minutes for the license key file to be sent to the 'Send To' email address.
